Kenshi Beginner’s Guide: How to Survive Your First Days Without Getting Destroyed
M HURR HAIDER
Starting Kenshi
Starting Kenshi feels really tough right off the bat. Most games give you some kind of guide or easy mode but this one just throws you in with nothing. Your character is weak and has no money and the world does not help at all. You can get beaten up or captured or worse if you mess up. I think that is what makes it interesting though because when you finally get somewhere it feels good.

Choosing a Start
Picking the right start matters a lot for not quitting early. • The wanderer option seems balanced you begin in a town that is sort of safe with okay stats to work with. • Starting at the Hub is another good one because there are shops around and some enemies close by to practice on without too much risk. But stuff like rock bottom where you are already hurt and broke that sounds punishing and I would skip it as a beginner. • The cannibal start is way too crazy with all the danger right away. Just go with something easy so you can figure out how everything works first.
Staying Alive Early
The first thing to aim for is just staying alive without jumping into fights. • Beginners often try to battle everything and that goes bad quick. • You are not strong at the beginning and even basic enemies can knock you out fast. Losing is okay but you do not want to die. • So stick near towns where it is safer • Avoid packs of bad guys • If trouble starts run away that is the smart move Early on it is all about not getting destroyed not about winning.
Making Money
To get money you have to do safe things since fighting for cash is not ready yet. • Mining copper near places like the Hub works well you find the nodes sell what you get at shops and it takes time but no one attacks you there. • Another way is hanging around when guards fight bandits then loot the ones who are down after. Sell their weapons and stuff for some quick bits. • Scavenging in old ruins can give items too but go careful not to wander far. Mining might bore you but it sets you up steady without the worry.
Combat Basics
Combat gets better as you go but it is not like other games where you just get good at buttons. • It depends on your stats mostly. • The key is toughness it goes up when you get hit and keep going. • Melee attack and defense improve in fights too and strength helps with hitting harder and carrying more. I am not totally sure on all the details but: • Fighting weak starving bandits near guards is a way to start • Let the guards help if things turn • Do not take on groups by yourself Getting knocked down happens a lot that is normal just avoid dying.
Building a Squad
Having a few people with you changes everything makes it less scary. • Recruit from bars in towns • Some join cheap or even for nothing With more in your squad you fight better carry stuff and heal each other. • Even two or three extra can help big time early It feels less lonely too.

Gear and Equipment
Gear is important but do not stress fancy stuff at first. • Use what you loot or buy cheap • Focus on getting away more than standing there Katanas are quick but not great on armored foes. • Sabres seem balanced for new players • Heavy weapons hit hard if you have strength but they tire you out For armor: • Heavy keeps you safe but slow • Light lets you move fast with less cover Running might save you more than tough armor does starting out.

Healing and Injuries
You have to handle injuries right because they stick around. • Get first aid kits they heal you up • Beds make recovery faster if you rest Always have medkits on you. • Fix wounds right after a scrap • Do not drag hurt characters around much Bad leg damage means you crawl slow so health is key.
Food Management
Food keeps your group going do not forget that. • Stock up on cheap bread or dried meat • So no one starves Hunger makes everyone weaker and harder to handle.
Base Building
Building a base sounds cool but wait on it. • Raids come if you are weak • Resources are tough to manage alone Stay in towns. • Buy a small house for storage instead Only start a base with: • A solid squad • Money • Some fight know how
Exploration
Exploring the world is fun but risky. • Go during day • Stick to roads • Avoid weird spots at first Cannibals slavers and those beak things can end you quick. It pays off but rushing unknown areas often ruins runs.

When Things Go Wrong
Things will go wrong. • You lose fights • Get robbed • Maybe even enslaved That is how Kenshi works failure teaches you. • Sometimes being captured builds strength and toughness weirdly Do not restart every time just adapt and push on.

Conclusion
It seems like patience is what gets you through the early mess into something better. In the end, Kenshi is less about quick success and more about sticking through the struggle. The early game feels rough and unfair, but that is what makes progress meaningful. As you keep playing, you slowly get stronger, build a squad, and understand how the world works. What feels impossible at the start becomes manageable over time. If you stay patient, learn from mistakes, and keep going instead of restarting, you eventually turn those small steps into real progress.
